MEET JHERY

Determined. Diligent. Dogged. Dedicated.

Jhery Brown is a driven and accomplished entrepreneur with a deep commitment to serving and uplifting others. As the owner of the 561 Loc Lounge, she has created a welcoming space where individuals with natural hair can nurture and maintain their tresses while embracing cultural connections. The lounge, adorned with vibrant ancestral colors, is a hub of joy, often filled with laughter and nostalgic musical moments.

In addition to her business, Jhery is the Founder and President of L.O.C.S.S., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (Life Occupation Community Support Services), which she co-founded with her late husband, Lenzie Brown III. Together, they focused on improving the lives of their community through life skills training, mental empowerment, and financial rejuvenation. Since the recent unexpected passing of her husband, Jhery has expanded her passion to include advocating for better cardiac health awareness within communities of color.

When not at the Lounge styling the manes of NFL greats, Jhery uses her talents in other extraordinary ways. She is a certified American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter, a senior flight attendant with over 25 years of experience, and fluent in German. As a devoted mother of two adult sons and her youngest, eight-year-old Dylan, Jhery lives by the mantra of turning life’s challenges into celebrations. Her vibrant approach to life ensures every moment is filled with purpose and positivity.

No matter what challenges are thrown at you, education is key to having a successful future and better environment.

PROGRAMS

Foster Kids

Empowering Foster Youth Through the Transition to Independence

As foster youth approach adulthood, they face unique challenges when transitioning out of the system, often lacking stable housing and the resources needed to thrive. Our program offers mentorship and empowerment to help these young adults navigate this critical life stage. We provide the support, education, and guidance they need to build a solid foundation for independence, ensuring they have the tools to succeed and create a bright future for themselves.

Teen Parents & Fathers Advocacy

Encouraging Education, Wellness, and Strong Family Relationships

We support teen parents and advocate for fathers by providing scholarships, co-parenting education, and mental health resources. We teach financial literacy, including budgeting and homeownership, to help families achieve stability. Through community initiatives like diaper drives and toy donations, we provide essential support, fostering healthier relationships and stronger connections.

Lenzie’s Light

Holiday Support for Widows and Widowers

In memory of Lenzie Brown, Lenzie’s Light offers comfort and support to widows and widowers during the holiday season. We provide a compassionate community, holiday resources, and special events to help individuals navigate grief, find healing, and experience the warmth of the season, even in times of loss.

This holiday season, we aim to support 25 widows and widowers, raising $30,000 by December 25th for gifts, food, mortgage assistance, grief therapy, and other necessities. Your generous donation will help comfort and warm those in need during this difficult time.
